  • The Pagans couldnt beat it, The Gnostics couldnt beat it, The Heretics couldnt beat it, The Muslims couldnt beat it, the Protestants couldnt beat it. Not even the great enemy itself can overcome it. THE GATES HELL WILL NOT PREVAIL!

God bless the Holy Catholic Church!

  • The Church is the continuation of Israel, we are the convenant, we are the church of God, we are the Catholic Church, which the gates of hell shall not prevail.

In the words of St.Ignatius, the student of the Apostle John, in his letter to the Symrynaeans:" Wherever the bishop shall appear, there let the multitude [of the people] also be; even as, wherever Jesus Christ is, there is the Catholic Church." - 107 AD

  • "Number the bishops from the See of Peter itself. And in that order of Fathers see who has succeeded whom. That is the rock against which the gates of hell do not prevail"

    St.Augustine(A.D. 393)

“As I follow no leader save Christ, so I communicate with none but your blessedness, that is with the chair of Peter. For this, I know, is the rock on which the church is built!” St.Jerome, To Pope Damasus (A.D. 375)

  • @Gatta9 if they trace it up to the author, they will find some impostor whose imagination furnished a mass of sophisms ..... Exactly the same in catholicism. !! Sorry>

  • Those who are seeking the true religion will never find it outside the Catholic Church alone, because, in every other religion, if they trace it up to the author, they will find some impostor whose imagination furnished a mass of sophisms and errors. St. Alphonsus Maria Liguori

    A. The power to forgive sins was not given to the apostles alone, because it was not given for the benefit merely of those who lived at the time of the apostles, but for all who, having grievously sinned, after Baptism, should need forgiveness. Since, therefore, Baptism will be given till the end of time, and since the danger of sinning after it always remains the power to absolve from such sins must also remain in the Church till the end of time.

    The Baltimore Catechism

    Q. 735. Was the power to forgive sins given to the apostles alone?

  • Actually is a part of the bible that says that you need to confess your sins to one another. I would LOVE to believe that I could go straight to God for that, it sounds nice doesn't it. The bible does say it, but Protestants can inturpret it however they want to. Not to mention the Catholic church is the first church and older than the bible itself, which means Christians were doing things BEFORE there was a bible to go off of. I've felt TRUE confession, there's NOTHING ELSE is like it!

  • Is that Archbishop Sheen I hear at the start?
