Alexei, my Katana/Dark Armor Scrapper in City of Heroes, beating the Rikti War Zone Challenge on his first attempt without using Dark Regeneration (Dark Armor's extremely powerful and fast-recharging self-heal). The RWZ Challenge is used to stress test top tier scrapper builds, to help show both your and your build's weaknesses. The rules are:
- Solo a group of Rikti 4 levels higher than you
- The group must include 3 bosses
- You must engage the entire group at the same time
- No inspirations allowed
- No temporary powers allowed
- No click accolades allowed
- No deaths allowed
Nothing really special about this run, nor these days anything particularly difficult about the Rikti War Zone Challenge for high end builds. It's more of a speed bump as you're driving through the parking lot to get to the race track. It's no longer the race itself. I wasn't even intending to do this yet, as I'm still purchasing the last few IOs for his build. But I was on the way back to the Vanguard base after doing some DPS testing on some Rikti Pylons (averaged about 177 DPS, which would be considered low these days), and there just happened to be a level 54 spawn with three bosses in it, and I figured what the heck. Beat it on the first try, never had to use my heal, and I don't think my hit points ever dropped below half. Not a challenge at all, really.
So not a particularly interesting watch, but I've had "coming soon" in my forum signature in regards to Alexei for some time now, so I thought I should post SOMETHING from him while I'm still putting the build together.
The Rikti drone and minion just sitting there when I'm done are an artifact of recording from a demorecord playback instead of recording live. That's also why the user interface isn't visible. My machine is too old to both play the game and record what I'm doing at the same time.
Oh, the reason I run around hitting everything at the beginning is that Dark Armor provides unsuppressed invisibility. It's often convenient to have the mobs only slowly become aware that you're tearing their friends apart. But in this case, in order to not violate the "engage the entire spawn at once" rule, I have to actively run around and grab aggro from all the mobs that haven't noticed me.
In one of the trailers of CoH we see a Sword/Pistol but I can´t find this option in game.
