I was at Clear Lake for the 40th anniversary concert of the last appearance of Buddy, Ritchie and the Bopper. What bittersweet memories! I loved Buddy more than any other rock icon. John Mueller did such a great job that night in Iowa. I saw the musical "Buddy" in London in 1992. The Brits were dancing in the aisles!!!
I saw this show at the Mt Gretna playhouse in Mt Gretna PA on Friday June 5 and all I can say is WOW.Buddy,Ritchie and the Bopper were great. The band was on all night and everyone had a great time. I wasn't born until 1962 but I have always loved this music and these guys did not disapoint. I felt I was there at the winter dance party and I can see why they call this the day the music died..Keep up the great work guys and I hope to see the winter dance party again.
Hi All- If you ever get the opportunity to check this group out in person....don't miss it.....(Caught them last night at Mohegan Sun Casino and the hour and 1/2 drive was more than worth it...."them boys is fabolus".....I could imagine myself 50 years ago at that concert and "got lost in the 50's" for one evening....AWESOME entertainers/musicians....THE MUSIC WILL NEVER DIE ! ! ! THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES............
I was there at the original concert 2/2/59 at the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake, IA, and the "50 Winters Later" reunion concerts earlier this month where I saw these guys. They have it the closest to how it really was I've ever seen!
