Bob Costas used halftime on NBC to give his and NBC's take on gun control. Varney & Co discussed this with Judge Napolitano.
Many people have asked and made statements about boycotting NBC. Is that what the American public should do, since NBC has obviously put its money, time and resources into manipulating the thinking of their viewers?

WOW FOX news...wow! You are talking about NBC and liberal media using their platforms to advocate for gun control...you are doing the same thing! And those two women in the back have one line each, and they think they can chirp Costas's broadcasting abilities and punditry? This whole segment is just disgusting.

All you see if Fox News not the story, SAD!!! Follow the story and the facts not the political one sided view that you seem to have. NBC is a national broadcasting station, not a cable station. They are airing a football game, not a news story. Costas is arguing that 300,000,000 million people should have their guns and civil rights stripped away and the GOVERNMENT should change, take away and control those rights. He is not paid to give comments on firearms, he's paid to comment on football.

Perfectly fine if they are saying he should not use national broadcasting station to argue his point. However, name me the rule that says he's not ALLOWED to do that? He is NOT arguing that 300M Americans should give up their guns. I think he is only advocating that their should be more stringent restrictions. I think you'll remember a little financial crisis that occurred because Americans didn't want tighter restrictions. Theres a difference between eliminating and having checks and balances.

This is why our government is getting involved in EVERY aspect of our lives, people think we need rules and laws for everything. Your argument for financial restrictions are not appropriate here, though I disagree with you. I am simply saying that when I tune into a football game I EXPECT the news and the commentary to be about football, not political viewpoints from a commentator. If he wants to say these things let him go on NBC nightly news or MSNBC, not halftime of a football game.

And I think people DO need rules and laws for a lot of. I think you give the general public too much credit. More and more stringent laws/rules are necessary because people just find ways around the original ones and undermine them anyway.

My last word on this is that I tend to agree with you in giving the general public to much credit. I often think that they get manipulated by the news of the day and have become followers instead of thinkers. I just have a strong disagreement that a few politicians, many I disagree with, can do a better job in deciding what's best for me. MY OPINION on guns is that they protect life more than destroy it.

Forget the fact that this is Fox News, look at the real story. While I respect Mr. Costas immensely, I didn't like this. Putting more gun laws into place is the exact wrong thing to do. Think about it, one way or another, criminals obtain guns, legally or illegally. What good would it do to make it illegal to have a gun when criminals already know how to get guns illegally? Making it harder to get a gun would make it harder to defend ourselves! Conceal and carry should be legal in all states.

I'm not opposed to legislation to protect the peace of the general public, in fact, that is a basic function of government.

Unfortunately, the gun control groups have demonstrated an unreasonable agenda.

Comments, such as, Jason Whitlock - "The NRA is the new KKK", or Mayor Bloomberg - ", the only reason to carry a weapon is to kill somebody."

These outrageous comments are designed to demonize gun owners and shows that they have no objective viewpoint. I don't trust them.

Well, well, well...once again, the liberals force upon us their views about gun control. I just wanted to watch a simple football game, not to be belittled by some dumb jerks option. This is why I normally don't watch anything on NBC. With guns--like cars, no one is saying to eliminate them. Let's just put a speed limit on it. That's all. You have a drivers license to operate a car and you have to be at least 16. In some states it's easier to get a gun than it is a driver's license... does that make sense to you?
