i'm playing #1 for recital, this is the best clip yet
-
Really excellent tempo and interpretation - the 'laid back' rhythm is so relevant! Am enjoying your discussions on piano_chat also - many thanks!

I'm playing the first one for recital this year. It's so much fun to play and listen to! I hope I can sound as good as this!

Bravo ! I only wish I could hear you in person because I suspect this vid doesn't truly do justice to your playing. Thanks for posting !

Your an excellent pianist
Keep posting those Vids!
Yeah this really is the most useful video to learn the preludes, but please attach more tags to it because it's very hard to find!
I recently found it by coincidence but couldn't find it afterwards, until now, because I was searching for "gershwin"...

An aswer to the pianist: how do you play the large chords for the left hand in the second prelude? I'm a piano student and I play this music, but I encountered some difficulty in playing these chords. Thank you and congratulations.

I "rewrite" or "redistribute" the notes between the hands. When the melody appears the 2nd time in octaves I break (roll) the LH chords, but the trick is to roll them so fast that they sound practically together. I'll be happy to teach you that and other things at my Piano Camp in Utica NY this coming June and August.
