Music of Armenia and St Ethelburga's Centre
present:

THE VOICE OF DUDUK

The duduk is an instrument which best describes sorrow, yet it is also an instrument used for happy occasions.

Tigran Aleksanyan, Andrew Cronshaw and Cevanne in an unforgettable evening of beautiful music.

  • duduk made in turkey

  • @1453sevval Borders do not make music or instruments but human beings do. For me music does not speak the language of difference but the language of oneness. If I say half the duduk was made here and the other half there does it make any difference to the sweet sound? Let the music play on.

  • Oh I so love the sound of duduk! It's so beautiful! I can listen to this whole day.

  • @wonsz

They say the sound is sad ~ but i call it ethereal

  • @kittytalk63 Thanks! Andrew Cronshaw and Tigran Aleksanyan are together on Andrew's latest CD, "The Unbroken Surface of Snow". Available direct from the Cloud Valley website (lots more info there; YouTube doesn't allow links, so Google it!), or usual online or real shops.

They're also together in the new band SANS, touring in 2012 and onward; video from their London show, also at very pleasant St Ethelburga's, is also on YouTube. There's a Facebook page too.

    It's an electrified chord zither.

  • This is sooooo beautiful. It really pulls at my heart strings and brought tears to my eyes. These musicians make beautiful music together-is there a cd of them together and do they tour? BTW, what type of "dulcimer" was Andrew playing?

  • @1453sevval made in armenia 3,000 years ago ;)
