It's interesting how Israelis dying in Sderot doesn't grab media attention. Only when Israel decides to do something about the unrelenting threat to its existence, does the world immediately sit up and take notice. To understand this conflict, it's necessary to know the history from 1948 onward, if not sooner--If what you hear on CNN in 2009 is all you're going on--you may have a very colored perspective if you aren't careful. Things are not always as they seem.

Israel's agenda is to defend their country after years of rocket attacks. Hamas' agenda from their own charter is to destroy the Jewish state. Israel is a sovereign nation; Hamas is a rogue terror group. The Palestinians are not better off under a Hamas/Taliban type gov't. The reason they suffer is Hamas. If Hamas cared at all about Palestinian civilians, they would not even exist to attack Israel, and would certainly not use Palestinians as human shields and media pawns.

No. Israel and Hamas aren't on the same level. Israel killed the terrorists because Israel has been rocket attacked consistently and need to do something to protect their country.
