@Myffe77 - Not really, it tends to be made around 140bpm. Not EVERY single tune is of course, but pretty much every big Dubstep producer makes it around the 140 mark.

@matty0mck - you sort of couldnt really. Dance has a pretty strict bpm rule. Dubstep is around 130-140pm (with 140 seemingly being the standard), Drum & Bass is around 174-176bpm. Most producers stick to around the same tempo of their genre so it can be easily mixed by dj's. A lot of people would argue that it's almost ONLY the tempo that separates Dubstep and Drum & Bass...

@dingusmungus ok, then direct me towards the litterature that support what you say, i'd be more than pleased to learn how you can use parietal accelerators to move in a direction normal to the lorentz force, without conductors and so on. SI agree on the meissner effect, but what i am saying, in essence, is this : same effect, different technology. Also Video technology : not available today.

FFS guy, I'm just telling you you're were wrong, not trying to argue the economics of implementing super conductors in trains. It is indeed the Meissner effect and flux trapping that allows both practical applications to function. Therefore you're original point of "we don't know how to move it" is wrong. I will not get bogged down in your off topic tangents.

@ericasw28 now, i don't think its the case because of economics and engineering practices, developpment and prototyping time scales, available technology at the conception time, and general culture of how industrial technology works. Don't take it personally at all, all i'm saying is that what's enduring fundamental research a lab now is not keen to be found on a working piece of everyday technology. Look at Siemens for levitation trains, and check if their vehicles operate at 70K

@dingusmungus i don't think its the EXACT same phenomenon, due to the state of resarch on quantum levitation today, the cost and operating conditions or this principle applied to a large scale train. Its just economically not possible today. engineering hurdles are way out of reach now for a high speed commercial use. I let you do the economic maths. Now, remember that the Maglev is in commercial service since many years, and its quantum lev is still in the labs, not out.

Meissner effect and flux trapping... It's the EXACT same concept. YBCO is a super conductor, and the the maglev trains use superconducting electromagnets. The effects are still the same. Besides you were saying "we" didn't know how to move a quantum locked object, and if you look at the track design it should be obvious how to move it forward/backward/strafe, but you couldn't roll, rotate or elevate the train once locked.

@dingusmungus no. Phenomenons are based on the same equations, but are fundamentally different. Quantum levitation locks magnetic field lines in supraconductor imperfections, as Maglev technology uses magnetic repulsion. Like when you take two magnets in your hands and try to assemble north to north or south to south. No correlation, because completely different approach on how to levitate something with magnetic fields.
