Rocketship X-M (1950) was the second of the American science fiction feature films of the space adventure genre begun in the post-war era, in 1950. Because expensive special effects and production value delayed the release of Destination Moon, this black-and-white film from Lippert Pictures was quickly shot (in 18 days) so as to be able to make it to the cinemas first with the story of a moon expedition that instead lands on Mars--this film is in the puplic domain--i am free to broadcast & share this film untill i am supplied with copyright ownership proof for world wide rights. reference http://www.archive.org/details/RocketshipXM
9:15 "Yeah, I've done more flying this month than in over a hundred missions." Reminds me of one of the lines Lloyd Bridges had in Hot Shots: "I've personally flown over a hundred-ninety-four missions and I was shot down every one. Come to think of it, I've never landed a plane in my life." He was a great actor.

Less then 5 minutes to launch and they're casually strolling to the rocket! No preflight checks or tests necessary.
And the line about isn't cooking and cleaning enough for a woman, wow this movie is quite an insight on the sexist attitudes of the 50's

Thanks for the post. Yes, I can see why the women revolted. They ran factories in WWII that won the war and when it was over they were out of a job and the respect.

This movie is an example why in the next decade of the 60's women revolted in America.
Oh and Osa Massen, our sexually harassed "girl factor" in this movie was from Denmark. Osa played in several Perry Mason TV shows with Raymond Burr. Ms. Massen died in Los Angeles in 2006. She was born 1914. Not a bad run at life.
