@curtissheets28 they aren't releasing the song. they can cover it live all they want. they can cover anything they want.

God, he sounds amazing live. And the audience doesn't sound bad either.

this was such a great show. add to it the fact that nate played a few format songs... for those of us who loved hearing them one more time! his new stuff is great tho. lovvvve fun. too!

you are dumb as shit if you think this is plagiarism... it's like saying Andrew Mcmahon is plagiarizing when he plays something corporate songs at a jack's mannequin concert.... this is Nate's song and he has the right to do whatever the hell he wants to with it.
-
its his and sams song not just his
-
i dont feel like looking any of that up but ya know what? its still a format cover whether you like it or not and thats the way it should be perceived

When Dog Problems was released, it was on a Vanity Label, aka, when the artists independently release their record. So, the ownership of She Doesn't Get It belongs to Nate and Sam, allowing them to choose what they want to do with it. Once more, making it completely legal for Nate to do whatever he wants with this song. Intellectual Property Law ftw!

just an FYI, i saw Fun. last night in pittsburgh......before playing the format songs, he said "we are going to do a few covers"......and later on he stated "we are fun. we dont know format songs, because we are fun.".....its quite obvious that they want to define themselves and also that they are not claiming to own the song...because like he said, its not theirs, its a cover
-
john fogerty was sued by his label for plagerism because he sounded too much like himself when he was with CCR.....its not HIS song, its the labels song..they own it and give him rights to sing it with fun......but its not legally correct to say its by fun because its already legally characterized as being by the format
once again, it really doesnt matter to me...i was more kidding when i posted originally anyways
Dude, it's his song.
