Tobacco companies show you images of what life would be like if you smoked. They tell you tough, hard-working people smoke their cigarettes. That you'll look cool, hip, rebellious. That smoking makes you independent, beautiful and mysterious. But the reality is that you can end up looking like this.
Tobacco Free Florida is airing this ad to prevent Florida youth from smoking or inspire those already smoking to quit by exposing them to the grave reality of the impacts of long term smoking.
Cigarette use alone results in an estimated 430,000 deaths each year in the U.S., including 28,700 deaths in Florida. Current data suggests that 369,000 Florida children, now under age 18, will ultimately die prematurely from their own smoking or secondhand smoke.
This is one of the most efective adds I've seen. Really well done!

something tells me these people are not in it for the "just cause", it just pays the bills.

@goseethedoctor That's true. But I'd give up a job doing 30 second commercials if it meant no one would die from cancer. The actors will find work doing something else.

Excellent production values, and straight to the point. Would love to know who's who behind the scenes. <3

whats funny is that if these commercials were indeed sucessful, every one of these people involved in the campaign would be out of a job, what then?

@MRalexanator Try 65. The lifespan of the average smoker is 65 years, and death is usually slow and painful. If you want to be dead by 80, by all means smoke, but you'll miss your target by a decade or so.
