If you like this video please subscribe, it's a quick and easy way for you to let me know you'd be interested in seeing more bass covers, I would film more, but I don't want to film them if no one is interested, so let me know what you think, and/or possibly subscribe.

I was in a hurry to do this one so I just went with my first take. I think I did it pretty well.

My bass sounds nothing like his, because Ryan plays on a Warwick, and through a SVT-4 Pro, I can't get my bass to growl like that, but I did add a little mild chorus to the mix.

Thanks for watching.

Another thing, this song is meant to be played on a 4 string tuned down to drop B, I'm playing it on a standard tuned 5 string, so I can't play those harmonics in the beginning.

  • goat dude is right keep practicing and 7sloth is good but there is better

  • oh yeah 7sloth is great

  • I have my own technique because I have had plenty of obstacles with my left hand that I've had to overcome, including some internal nerve damage in my left hand that keeps me from 'properly' playing, and keeps me from being able to use my pinky without excruciating pain. Thanks anyways though.

  • as the strings are tuned?

  • I kept the bass tuned to BEADG (which is the standard for 5 strings)

  • Ryan doesnt use the 5 string on this song

  • Hey dude, stumbled on this vid. I likes it! If thats a T-5 your playing, could you post your string heights? I've been trying super hard to get that kind of response out of mine

  • Good job man. You have a simple style and no real frills or anything too flashy, but you nailed it, and the audio sounds excellent. Keep 'em coming.

  • Thanks everybody for the kind words, this is my old Youtube account and I'm unfortunately locked out of it. :(

  • i think its easer to play this song with a 4 string insted of a 5 string

  • @silentscream51 very nice technique, it takes a good player to use proper technique, it takes a GREAT player to develope his own and still play a song flawless.

  • death blooms is probobly my favorite mudvayne song to play, and yes 7sloth's covers are usuly incedibly acurate and ancy but this guy did a pretty god job too so kudos to both of them.

  • @silentscream51 wait this song is in 5 string standard I thought it was in drop B thats awesome I now have to learn this song

  • You did fine, but you wouldn't achieve Ryan's sound or 7sloth's even if you had warwick.

Heavy picking is a must for Mudvayne sound :-)
