Armed Services YMCA and Sierra Club Operation Outdoors

Thanks to a to a grant provided by the Sierra Club Military Family Outdoor Initiative, the Armed Services YMCA is able to sends military children and their families to camp across the country, mostly free of charge. It's an opportunity for families to reconnect, relax, make friends and appreciate the outdoors. In 2008 alone, more than 3,000 military children and their families participated in the initiative.
