This is one of of 101 Lies Taught In Church Every Sunday. See the rest at www.gracewalkministris.blogspot.com or through my web site at www.gracewalk.org
@blueskunk12 - are you accusing me of rejecting Christ? The fruit that emerges is God's work- true enough- nothing I said could cause you to think I believed otherwise- but God's fruit emerges only if we CHOOSE (this is free will) to SUBMIT to him- not to obey the law or earn our salvation- but out of love- love of Christ dying on the cross for our sins- as for not reaching up to God, well, that is blasphemous- we should always strive to be more like Christ- that is reaching up-
No one is making that argument. The reason you think that is because you think in black and white. It must be one or the other.
The fruit that emerges is God's work in us, not anything that we do. Anything we do is like filthy rags.
Grace comes when we stop trying to reach up to God and let God reach down to us. As long as we keep trying to reach up, we are still rejecting Christ and trying to obey the law.
@SteveMcVey you missed the point realistic28 was making...in your doctrine, even if i revel in sin, unprepentent sin, as long as i believe in christ..wait. as long as Christ chose to exchange my life for his...then i can go on robbing from churches and raping and pillaging the land....this is blasphemy and your false doctrine will call you to face harsh judgment by God
@blueskunk12 this is a typical argument from the exchanged life cult now emerging, that it is either completely grace, with no repentance, no acting on our part, no acceptance of an invitation..or the law...or..the other attack...that we are defending a doctrine of works...Galatians is talking about people trying to earn their way to heaven through obeying the law of Moses..not the same thing as saying we must ACCEPT the invitation by submitting to Christ in fear and love..and fruit emerges
@Lysimachus78 amen......His grace, His love embodied in the cross is the invitation we can never earn, but one He requires we accept...this acceptance is a submission to Christ...we do not die completely in this earth until we have our flesh removed...our flesh is still in sin..our spiritual self lives in Christ...when we choose sin, we choose flesh, when we choose Christ we choose the Spirit....why did Paul say we had to be free of our fleshly bodies to enter heaven?
@hellbindercda amen....amen....this is the exchanged life doctrine, which is a doctrine of passivity, a doctrine of the carnal christian where none of us choose Christ....if you love me you will follow my teaching.....you must CHOOSE to love him..and then his teaching emerges from that love, that surrender....why in so many places in the new testament does it use terms like submit to Christ...be a slave to Christ? You must surrender your life so that your life must die and live in Christ...
@shanming716 Once we have been saved then Jesus lives His life through us--if we try doing anything in the flesh and think we can do anything on our own or apart from Him we are fooling ourselves. We can't do it--we go to Him when we realize this and He does it in us and through us. The glory truly is His and not ours no matter what.
