Eagle Dynamics asked me if I could do a small movie, with a demonstration of landing on ships in rough seas. I thought to myself "oh ok, how can I make that look interesting?". Well after some hours of work, it came down to this. It's nothing fancy or "over the top" as I'm used to, but it gets the point across (though yeah, you never actually see me *landing* :P).
And obviously, this movie won't make any sense unless you have read this text.

And the music is called "Enigmatic Soul (No Vocals)" by Two Steps From Hell.
Oh and the intro is actually a hint to another movie i'm working on... :)

  • And before I get bombarded with questions; No this is not the movie i've been working on for many months, this took maybe 5-6 hours to do. I've actually been planning 3 big movies at once here, though my next movie will be a return of a good ol' favorite of mine... Superior Fighters 2. :)

  • @GlowingAmraam Hey GA, know you for about 10 years now =D I'm looking forward for new movies! :)

  • @schmalzfaust

Hey, yes, thanks for supporting my movies over the years! I'll be sure to deliver more. :)

  • the water graphic is awesome, haven't seen any better in any other game so far. ...but the ship needs some work...like a lot of work, ..it has the pixels of the 2003 first Lomac.. c'mon.. its been 10 years of progress.. you can't have that.. you just cant'.. but then again, simulation doesn't need graphics, it need realism, so i'm all for realism and combat systems integrated, would be nice to have Comand and control center where you could in real time direct combat forces to action..etc..

  • @castun66 You just can't have a high-res texture on every single object in the game's world. That would kill your pc. In smaller worlds it is no problem (look at BF3). Flight sims will never have the same graphical level than shooters because of the MUCH bigger world. But flight sims will reach the level of BF3 in some years...but surely not with your current pc.

  • I still have EDGE saved in my computer. E-motion packed videos. Nice work.

  • @BluestyleY Yeah, the graphics in the game are outstanding, with the effects and the attention to detail of the aircraft and vehicles. Unfortunately there are certain areas of the game that are marred by the 'low-def' models and textures like with the ships, buildings, and trees that are probably still the original assets that were used in LOMAC.

  • Nice work GA, very nice opening scene and i really enjoy your water shots. You know how to make good use of it :)

  • Very nice! Will you doing some new movie of DCS?

  • The movie is good as usual with your movies.

Having served in the royal navy for 5 years, I would say that this sea is not rough sea at all, I would say that it is very calm. It does show a normal calm sea quite accurately though. warships do roll like that on calm sea.

I have seen Royal Navy pilots land on ships in very rough weather, you cant believe what you are seeing, it is amazing to watch. You are not sure how they can land it on the deck without hitting the super structure.

  • Another movie well done! :D

  • Even for 5 or 6 hours of time thats nice! Cant wait to see your movie!

  • I used to fly the Black Shark until i took an airrow to the knee.

  • WHAT!?!?! When will pitching deck be available to us 33 pilots on FC2?
