what is critical mass? critical mass is a community bicycle ride designed to promote alternatives to automobile transportation. Riding a bicycle is a fun and pollution free means of transportation. Our society has become too reliant on automobiles and this reliance is placing an unnecessary burden on our Earth. 123 million automobile trips are made each day for distances under one mile. Automobiles are ruining the environment by both their pollution and the paving of miles of roads designed to accommodate them. While most people cannot get by without using an automobile, they can at least reduce their dependence on them. In addition, when driving an automobile they can share with cyclists. Cyclists have the legal right to the roads under Florida law!

congrats, I'm thrilled and amazed and encouraged to see a critical mass going on in my old hometown of Ft. Lauderdale. Bravo! You are brave souls. (Isn't that Dania, or Hollywood though? Congrats and best of luck anyway)
