I was 17. And if i was 12 why shouldn't i be using a weapon? Let me deconstruct your argument for you:
Before being allowed near ammunition i had passed a weapons safety test. This test ensures that i know how to operate the weapon safely. Something that no civilian (and i doubt your military) has to do before getting their hands on a loaded weapon.
Out of interest do you use firearms or are you against them?

@noodles1916 That's to prevent it jamming on the A1...Which didn't work, because it still jammed. There are SOP's for jamming on the A2, no forward assisting is required. At all.

@iiGAMINGPRoZ true but still used it training scenarios

@noodles1916 Forward assists are used for the A1 version, not the A2.

@bubbles867 ahah, fool.

@infrared567 No and you can't spell either. Jog on you muggy cunt.

@bubbles867 I aint your mate.

@linkinpark4eva2k7 No , the A1 DOES need a forward assist facility as the working parts were not strong enough to push a round into the chamber flushly hence in the weapon handling drils forward assist was taught. Forward assist is only taught on the A2 as its second nature and its always been done , although the forward assist isn't required on the A2

@infrared567 Mate you need to learn punctuation and grammer!
Hah, I was in the RAF cadets, so no automatics for me - we got the joyously terrible L98's - they weren't exactly well looked after, either. I was one of the few not to suffer a jam after 5 rounds...!

@RealDiaboy The L98a1s were a pile of shite werent they! We had them in cadets, me and a friend were doing a demo for the new cadets on their first range day and we had to basically slap n tap every other round... absolutely shite.

Could someone please explain what forward assist is?
TheRaptor06 9 months ago
@TheRaptor06 certainly.
The forward assist is a simple hand motion where you push the cocking handle forwards after cocking the weapon. This ensures that the round is correctly chambered for firing.
The reason the drill was introduced was because the springs on the A1 variants were not strong enough, that has been remedied with the A2 however the drill has not been removed as it is sometimes necessary in rare situations.
