why not? Like I say each bike has its own character. Each has its own little way of slapping a massive grin on my face whenever I ride them.

@360jeepboy more like 90% rider 10% bike. if it were 30% then a lot of the yamahas and suzukis would always win. Before anyone tries to come at me, im sorry honda fans but its just not as track worthy as the other bikes out there.

@dubbys, are you trying to give me a lesson on the way motorcycles sound? Afraid not little man, I have own and ridden more motorcycles than you can dream about as you lay in your crib. The fact that you are suggesting have sex with me, well I'm not interested at all. Find one of your gay american men, not me!

@Tophairybutt Bikes often sound funny on small digital recorders, the SV650 is a V-Twin motorcycle meaning it has a deeper sound than most motorcycles. Also: Fuck You for being a complete tool.

@salchipapa8000 the front cylinder has issues with oil starvation due to prolonged wheelies (stunting) I have no idea how long said wheelie has to be before you completely starve the cylinder... but the traditional idea is SV + wheelie = BOOM.

@jaspersmells thats funny, because I'm clearly watching that SV destroy that R1 as far as turns go. why? because thats what the SV does best, turns.
yeah the R1 can kick its ass in the straits, but the SV demands respect in the turns.

@7mile7 why will stuntint the sv kill the motor ?

And most of you seem to forget one detail, on the public highway it isnt down to the outright performance of the machine, its down to the rider, example, Rossi vs Me, me on the R1, him on a CBR400...he will win, unless its a straight line, I know that comparison is ridiculous, but I was using it to make a point, so everyone who says "it'll kill this" "r1..." "sv" I own a 2007 SV650s, and I know a couple of guys with R1's, both will kick my arse because they do alot of track days and I dont
This bike sounds like a leaf-blower. Why does it bog down when you open the throttle? It also sounds like there is no airfilter, and the bike is running lean. I hope you burn your valves!

@Tophairybutt Correct, there is no airfilter - the bike had 41mm FCR flatslide carburetors w/ velocity stacks. Jetting was done by Factory Pro Tuning in Marin, who also used the bike to develop different products for 1st gen SVs.

Such rubbish,,, my wife has a SV650s and i have a 99 R1 , i have riden them both and the SV is just not in the same league......

@jaspersmells 'Rubbish' is how some fast guys described the 1st gen R1 chassis. There's a reason that teams put that motor in an R7 frame...
