  • why is number 4 on the left BUT no number 4 on the right...i tried playing a song...but wanted the 4 chord on the right...can you add this please

  • @undekegamisou Hi there! Thanks for giving it a go. The reason is due to the Scoreless Music Method. In Basic Theory, all Scoreless Music students are taught to handle the harmonic shapes first before going into pure numbers. Therefore, the way to play would be to match the following harmonic shape (right side) with the following left side numbers (see the table below):

  • @undekegamisou when Left Hand is ... : ... Right Hand plays Shape ...

    1 : Centre (circle)

    6 : Centre (circle)

    4 : Up (triangle right)

    2 : Up (triangle right)

    5 : Down (triangle down)

    3 : Down (triangle down)

So from this, you can play bass 1-6 and match it using only 3 harmonic shapes.

Pure 4 (right side number 4) is not as powerful as the harmonic Up shape and there are reasons for this which is best explained only by demonstration and a more in-depth discussion of Scoreless Music Method.

  • Absolutely brilliant! Totally looking forward to try this out, it seems like a very good way to work on chord sequencing while on the go - if sequences can be recorded in some kind of step sequencer and then arranged into tracks - and maybe even have the ability to export the final sequence into MIDI that would be absolutely incredible!
