Amitabh meets Narendra Modi 6th jan 2010
The Big B or Shahenshah of bollywood as he is called descended upon Ahmedabad to meet the charismatic Narendra Modi. The meeting took place at the CM House where the two bonded and exchanged mementos. Amitabh Bachchan gifted the CM a copy of 'Madhushala' and the CM in turn gave the Big B an invitation to the much talked about kite festival. It seemed that the two had formed a mutual admiration society. It created a furore among the general public of Ahmedabad who were awaiting a glimpse of their favourite star. The scene was historical as the two stalwarts in their own fields met and discussed issues. They arrived at City Pulse multiplex to address the media and then proceed to watch the movie. The two were not alone along with their entourages they were also accompanied by the cabinet ministers.

Amitabh Bachchan:

Amitabh Bachchan said "I want to thank the CM for taking out time from his busy schedule to watch 'Paa'. We have made the film with a lot of effort. Our main agenda was to make a movie that does not pity or exploit the emotions of the physically challenged. Auro's character was treated sensitively and there are many out there like him who need to be treated with understanding and like any other normal human being. The other character of a single mother who brings up a special child single handedly was also exemplary."

On being asked about whether like him the CM was the shahenshah of politics he replied "I have never taken such tags seriously and regarding the comparison with the CM I cannot compare myself with him. His contribution to the state has been outstanding."

On being asked about Amar Singh's resignation the Big B feigned ignorance stayed clear of the topic.

On being asked about Gujarat he said "Gujarat is a beautiful state and I wish someone would come up with the idea of making documentaries on the state. I would definitely participate in any activity that promotes the state and its beauty and culture. I will be more than willing to lend my voice, face and time to the promotion of Gujarat."

Narendra Modi:

Narendra Modi said "I am thankful to Mr. Bachchan for paying us a visit. I strongly feel that the Indian Film Industry has played a major role in unifying the nation and educating the masses. We would be honoured if a stalwart like Mr. Bachchan associates himself with Gujarat."

The two then progressed to watch the critically acclaimed and much liked movie 'Paa' at City Pulse where the masses were getting difficult to handle by the minute.
