Wagner is the greatest shortstop of all time, so he has to be in far, far ahead of Groat. Also, I understand that Barry Bonds is unpopular, but he's also one of the greatest players (if not the greatest) that the Pirates have ever had. I think a myth has grown up around him that he wasn't really a dangerous hitter until the steroids, but that's not true. He was always one of the most feared hitters in the game. Even in Pittsburgh.

You lose right off the bat. Honus Wagner? At that point I stopped watching lol

I really enjoyed this! There's so many great Pirates to add, Wagner, Bonds, Phillippe, etc., On the bench you can put madlock and in the bullpen Tekulve & Ellis!

As far as Barry Bonds goes, anybody who couldn't wait to get out of Pittsburgh has no place in that line up. He tanked two league championship series while he was with the Pirates.

Great players all. I hope the Pirates can come back and become a contending team again in baseball, it has been too long out.

You managed to leave four hall of famers off the team. Richie Hebner at third base over HOFer Pie Traynor was, by far, the worst. Honus Wagner, Paul Waner and Lloyd Waner were the others.

@ThePhilliesforlife Not defending the choice, but having a great arm in center is needed too ala Willie Mays.
Bonds is probably a member of the all-time Pirates team but he would come off the bench. With Clemente, Stargell and Kiner. I don't see any other way besides the Pirates moving to American League and having a DH. Then Bonds would be in there with Stargell moving to DH.
