Good vid! I remember riding when they were laying those concrete ties @ this location! Ahhh! Memories!
-
Even with the limited amount of Viewliners, I remember when the Sliver Palm ran with Viewliners before they changed it back to the Palmetto! Amtrak is really suffering! No Sunset Limited to Florida! No Palmetto to Florida! (I miss that train) Amtrak is spanking Florida for something!

@buffbrad They'll never get to that level again! Even in the 80 and 90s the trains seemed longer! (Especially in the winter!) To see an all Viewliner train with 3 Baggages, 7 Sleepers, 2 Diners, 2 Lounges, and 4 Coaches would be insane!

Since when does CSX track look that good?

This is a great video--it makes me want to head to Jacksonville and climb on the Silver Meteor!

What extended consist?? Looks the same to me...now if we're talking the 1970-80 period when 6 trains a day with 18 cars each ran JAX to/from NYP thats another story.

LOL well you're lucky. I haven't actually been to this crossing, so it may not be as bad as I think it is, but I know that just about everything south of Edgewood Ave is bad, and this is pretty close to it.
Hey! I can see it now! Oh yea it's a 5* video 4 sure bro!

Yes they did. 98 Always had 3 Viewliners, but 91 always had 3 as well, now both 92 and 91 have 2, and 97 and 98 have 3.

Excellent video. I would probably go to these crossings to railfan if it wasn't so much of a ghetto in that part of town.

Its not that bad at all...I didn't have a problem there at all...plus my dad's a P.O so the car that I was driving probably deterred anyone from doing anything!
