  • Yeah. Normal canal cruising speed is about 2-3mph with the engine and prop running at around 150-180rpm, with the engine seeing around 60psi after the regulator.

In open water she will cruise at around 6miles and hour, at which point the boiler is the limiting factor. She would do 8 for a short time.

She burns coal. And about the best we can get!!

Performance wise shes good for a narrowboat as she has a very big oversquare blade on her (26*32") and the engine had a lot of low down grunt.

  • 20 HP, quite slow for 200 psi. but I guess that's plausable for 22 tons. Most of the steam engines I see make around 80rpm's. Does the boiler burn coal, propain or oil?

If you don't use gas or oil, she'll be a LOT chieper to run. SS Norway burned $200,000-a week!!!

I'm thinking about building a seam launch-maby a small rowing boat. What do you suguest?

  • The engines a leak compound, 4.5+7.5*4, rated at around 20hp. Working presure is 200psi. - Shes 58ft long at the waterline, 6ft10 beam, 2ft 9 draft, wieghing in at around 22ton.

As i say, i have a smattering of other videos, but not a huge number.

There however also some photos, eather on our website, or on Flickr (search for emilyanne).

    Daniel

  • Could'ive fooled me...

How many shaft horsepower does she have? What's her PSI rating? What's her flank speed, weight, leinth, beam, draft? And the BIG question, Will we see any more videos of such beauty?....

  • Thankyou, she was built in 1991 by my grandad. So shes about 18 years old this summer coming. A mere youngster really!

  • She's beautiful... How old is she?
