  • How long does it take to clean brass. I'm told that a rotating action is not effective, not like the boiling motion you see with bought ones. I built one myself today.

  • @detectiveinspekta it take about few hours for 500 pcs. .9mm using walnut shells, and a few drop of brasso..

  • how did you make this? I see the sander, but what is that in the middle of the bowl?

  • @coalman75 in the middle is a plastic container also, glued in the middle and i shoved some socket wrench to add some weight, the blue thing between the sander and the bowl is a Frisbee to stabilized/support the flimsy bowl..

  • You need to break down and buy one of the $50.00

Berry's Tumblers also sold by various others ! All that's

happening here, is the brass is going around in a circle

with no folding action towards the center. Not to mention

"everyone" knows Brasso isn't good for pistol/rifle

because of it has Ammonia in it ! If you have to be

cheap, use "Nufinish" Syn Car Wax with a little

Mineral Spirits to thin it out....

  • When the video first started, I thought you had a free floating magnetically contained toroid of suspended and rotating tumbling media and brass... then the camera zoomed out and I saw that everything was contained in a transparent bowl. That was somewhat disappointing, but still pretty cool.

I have a Lyman Turbo vibratory tumbler that's a brute. I tumble a lot of 50 BMG, or a ridiculously large "shovel it in" load of 9mm.

  • @mrq5daw Oh, I'm only using a 2L container. First test I have done 35 .243 rounds, clean within 1 hour. Used 1/2 brasso cup though, maybe a little too much. Will post a video of mine soon.
