Bunsen is our spoiled, super tame and cuddly cockatiel. All she wants to do is cuddle most days. You may not be able to tell from the video but her eyes were closed when getting the headrub.

  • my mum is going to get my cockatiel's wings clipped, but i want her to be able to fly to me as she is very tame already. the man at the pet shop says that if we dont get her wings clipped then she will fly into windows and could break her neck :/ as your cockatiels wings arnt clipped has your bird ever tried to fly through a window?

  • @themattster666

I have 4 other pets and they are not clipped. If your pet is trained to fly and control their flying, they will learn not to smash into windows. My pets have never smashed into windows. The actually perch by the window to watch me go to work and return from work.

  • how can i make mine to do that?

they stay on my hand but wouldnt let me touch them.

  • @lollipopkhafan Bunsen was hand fed when we got her. She was scared of us at first, but it took about a month of interaction to gain her trust. This video was taken about 6 months we got her.

  • I would so kill you to get that bird. The one i have is good enough, but compared to Bunsen, Pepper isn't nearly as cute. Also, was bunsen the sick one? Or who was that?

  • @hyperhippy92 The sick one was Jasper. It took a few months to get Bunsen that super tame. She was already tame and following "step up" commands, but didn't like head rubs too much. She had to get used to watching me giving Jasper head rubs until she trusted me.

  • Aww, how adorable. Bunsen is very pretty and so lovable!

  • I want to know how you did that as well!! Beautiful video.

  • Wow, how long did it take to get your cockatiel to be that tame, and what exactly did you do during that time? (ex. Use of treats, praise, how long and often you took him out of the cage, stuff like that)

    I am really impressed.

  • I wish my Cockatiel pooped on me. He likes to eat my hand!!
