Paladin Tanking Onyxia (Patch 2.01)

WARNING - Bad Quality Video ahead

This is the first movie that i ever made, so quality, editing and stuff are horrible.

Basically showing Paladin Tanking on old Lady Onyxia. Made one day after the Patch, so i really didn't have much addons yet.

Reckoning procced like mad (watch the 'Extra Attack' message on SCT)and Spiritual Attunement allowed me to keep up a good ammount of Holy Damage (Consecrating everytime the cooldown was done) without going oom.

The problem with all these videos is the Paladins still wear Holy Gear - I know an awesome geared Protection Paladin with real tanking gear who can stand up to anything - nice video though :)

With 60, finding Tanking Gear as a Paladin was a Pain. I choose Judgement because

1. It hat good Stam, Int and Spelldamage and

2. Because it looked (and still looks) awesome.

Tanking Stats came from Rings/Trinkets.

Now with Burning Crusade, i have some rather good Tanking Gear, far better suited for tanking than the old stuff was. I MTed the most 5 Mans, and we currently started Karazhan where i'm also on Tank duty. Maybe i'll throw together some tanking clips.

I assume you're tanking with a shield? I cant see it? or is it a 2h axe?

Yes, of course i am tankin with a shield. The Drillborer-Disc to be exactly, with Bloodlords Defender in the Main Hand.

how much armour/hp? heh jw

With full tanking gear, unbuffed, i have 4621 HP and 8605 Armor. This is not all that much, but i didn't choose to maximise theese stats anyway.

I have 380 Defense, with a base Block Chance of 20% and 11% and 13% Parry and Dodge.

I am however still trying to get some more Stamina (Judgement Bindings just don't want to drop, and those have some good stamina on them)

I can only guess, but i think it is because it was because of the new talent trees (the Raid took place the day after patchday)and some just forgot to stop damage / continued attacking when she landed. Proppably because most of us dont take Onyxia too serious anymore.

Wow.. As a paladin i know how it feel to actually be able to tank now. It seemed you had a bit of trouble picking her up after phase 2(beginning of Phase 3). Why was this?
