  • I'm a fan of Lucy period ;) But yeah, despite the flack the movie gets I thought it was pretty good--and I'm not the type of person that cares for musicals usually.

  • Omg lucy totally makes this movie I guess you never really watched it or felt the emotion. This was the first "PG" movie I was allowed to see as a pup and I got to share it with my mom and my grandma who was so Mame. Its a wonderful movie and Lcuy is too.

  • If you want to hear Lucille Ball sing in a show "designed" for her--get a copy of "Wildcat". Only ran 171 performances on Broadway but boasts having the song "Hey, Look Me Over" as part of it's score. Also, if you look closely, you'll see a young girl in the chorus just getting started in show business - named Valerie Harper.

  • Duh.

  • Sugar coating ? I think 99.9% of people would say it's wrong. So what's your beef?

  • any forced labor on another human being is inhumane.

  • You can see Patrick at 0.37 and at 1.51..

  • I absolutely love this sequence!

  • Because of the harsh reviews that this movie, and in particular Miss Ball received, she never made another theatrical film. I think part of it was simply the timing. If it had been released a few years earlier, it might have received a different reception. 34 years later, this musical number has withstood the test of time. Lucy seems to glow. One would never know she had recovered from a broken leg before filming began. Note her high chorus line kicks even though she was in her 60s.

  • I think we're all sugar coating slavery a tad too much.

  • well atleast his name makes sense Locoman

    Crazyman,lol

  • The southern gents were actually much kinder to the slaves than the yanks
