My Little Pony: The (Abridged) Mentally Advanced Series Ep 1

This is the Mentally Advanced series for My Little Pony: FiM. It is designed for an audience of older kids who may or not be kids at all, but rather strange folks who meet in abandoned mines to supe up Power Wheels for racing events.

I was originally part of the FimAbridged team sans first episode, brought on officially as a writer and the voice for Braeburn. However, I had strong disagreements with the group's organizational ethos and the way they presumed to handle creative control. Long story short, I wrote the foundation of their script for episode two, but then the team's teenagers chopped it up and altered it for bizarre emotional reasons. The team member primarily responsible for this removed many jokes because they went over her head, or because she complained that some material could be offensive if someone stretched their imagination far enough.

When last I checked the team had twelve members aside from myself and is still growing. There is no clear leadership, and after more than a week it appears on the surface that only one voice actor has sent in lines for one scene. They are focused intently on, among other things, a negative video response they received for their first episode: they have already responded to it through comments on Youtube with multiple accounts, they've made their own video response implying the guy is a Derpy, and now they're planning on taking another jab at him in their release of episode two (assuming that ever gets off the ground).

Honestly, I just wanted to make an abridged series, and I thought I had the ideas to make a decent one. I hadn't previously dreamed of doing one by myself because I've never edited videos or worked with audio software in my life, but after FiMAbridged began to look like a debacle, I declared, "I'm a grown man! I have my own car! I buy my own yogurt!"

So here is my shot at an abridged series, and I must say, despite all the technical problems I seem to have created from having no idea what I'm doing, it didn't come out so bad. I hope you'll agree. Although, I also hope you'll tell me what exactly is wrong with it so I can make a better episode next time. Currently, I'm noticing the audio has some problems, so you may have to adjust your volume after the title screen. The volume will be pretty consistent after that (although a few lines get a touch too quiet, sadly).

Anyway, I hope this will just be fun to watch for most people. It may not start by blowing anyone out of the water, but my starting goal is to crush FiMAbridged. My ending goal is to die a content old man on a morphine drip.
