They dont have to be so expensive when you work out what to get them before buying them. Like, dont buy a cage with plastic things in it. Just buy a cage, possibly secondhand. Buy wood atributes for them. Definatly get them sand.

I already spend over 100Euro on them in the last three months. Wasn't needed, no. Lol. But I love them so o:

Gerbils themselves are about $10, but I recently went to a pet store and counted up the prices of everything I needed to buy, and the lowest I could get it was $80 (but that was also including two $12 gerbils...they prefer (MUCH) to live in pairs). I'm getting mine soon. :)
