I picked this dryer up last week from eBay, it's about the same age as my washer. Hopefully this and the 2652 will do me until I can win the lottery and buy my Supertronic set :).

Only issue is this bumping noise - I'm led to believe its either the drive belt or the rollers; I had a quick look under the hood lastnight and the belt seemed OK to me. It was transported in the back of my car for 150 miles though, so hoping that something hasn't come wonky in transit... any thoughts would be appreciated!

My flat isn't this messy... its just the back hall where everything gets chucked, has to stay here until I can get somebody to give me a lift with it upstairs

  • hi, very nice new dryer, have you replaced the belt? good buy to go with the washer and dishwasher, will the AEG dryer go into storage at your parents house or something?

  • Hi there, nice video :) I have been told by someone who I would consider a very reliable source of information that it may be worth checking the belt first, a belt can be obtained from Partmaster :P

  • Don't look very messy to me!

That sounds strange that noise is the drum moving on the banging (by that I mean side to side) as this happened on our previous Hotpoint De Luxe dryer. I also noticed this sound on a Big laundrette machine I used a while ago (Drying a duvet).

Hope you can get it fixed-I am sure you will!

What would happen if you kept using it with that noise, would it eventually conk or just get louder banging?

(I am sure one day you may win Lottery and grab a Supertronic!)

    Good Luck
