Who cares about tactics you say? Ok let me shed some light on something you clearly do not get. BioWare made Dragon Age ORigins Trademark the Tactics menu and system.

So sure you can cut out tactics, just be aware that by doing that, you are now cutting out almost half the games playability

Tactics on your main character is neccessary for the sole purpose is when you switch characters in battle do you :

A. Want him standing around doing nothing

OR

B. Have him do something

You don't need common sense to understand which one to use A or B

About half way through the video the penny dropped lol.

First I was like: "OK WHEN WILL THIS GUY QUIT TALKING ABOUT BIOWARE FORUMS AND GET DOWN TO- Ooooooooooooooooooohhhh" that's what the other page is foorr!"

Thanks a lot shining light on this, saves me so much trouble. I'm up to the landsmeet and fighting the crows in Denerim and I'm frustrated out of my mind because I don't know how to use tactics and my team keeps dying.

Up to now I've been just doing a kotor thing where I pause a lot.

I watched this video in hopes that it would clear up questions like the difference between 'ally' and 'controlled party member' and tips/examples that would act as a springboard for exploration on my own. Instead, I finish watching this video wondering if i should post a video explaining why problmslver88 doesn't understand why experienced players don't get why inexperienced players don't get the tactics...what a fabulous waste of my time.

@problmslver88 I agree that tactics are very important, but may I ask why most of this video is is mostly criticizing "Bioware" and "Experienced Players"? I am a new player and this video would have been way more effective by simply saying:

-Left Side = CONDITION

-Right Side = ACTION

-Choose when on the left, and what on the right.

With that information you could have compressed all of that video into a shorter watch and possibly pack in a couple of interesting tactics to start newbies off.

I am a new player and I was never puzzled by the menu. I can only see a new player getting confused with that if they never had a personal computer. The problem I have is understanding the description of the situations to trigger a chosen action. E.g self-health-heath>=10%. From math I read ">=" as more than or equal to. So I am guessing if my hero's health is either 11% to 100% or 10% then I can perform an action. But I am not sure if the game meant that. Am I correct or wrong?

does anyone agree that a dragon age RTS could be made .....and this tactics menu could be utilized for each unit......it would take away from the usual mundaine rts experience....way more in depth....also thanks for the vid
