I'm not easily impressed but this movie ranks in my top 10 of all time. I studied the war of independence and civil war yrs ago and this production comes closer to the reality of ireland's savage situation in 1920 -22 than anything I've seen.
great clip.

Final curtain has not dropped yet !!

by this town he meant ''ireland'' and no they didnt irish nationalists used guerilla warfare

Interesting.... Teddy talks about "taking this town from the British with force" (or similar such words). Did the Irish Nationalists actually manage to seize a town during the Independence War and hold it? I'm curious about that - I've studied the conflict and I'm not actually aware of that happening. Could be wrong though. Anyone here with any more info'??

I agree, fantastic film...although I was a little dissapointed in the final scene. The brother's reaction to the final act ( dont want to be a spoiler to anyone who hasnt seen it) was rather poor. A little devoid of emotion, Ive seen people more upset over a broken nail. But thats just 1 minute out of what is otherwise, a fantabulous film.
