Wow you can put in the whole coconut just like that in the blender!? I had no idea, I thought maybe you needed to shave it from the rough exterior.

If I had a vita mix it would make it so much easier to go can-free! That's one of my goals over the next year, including reducing the amount of plastics in my home and learning to garden. Seedlings are comin' up already in the warmish Florida weather!

You need to take off the hard outer shell, but that thin layer right around the coconut is no problem.
