@martinfevm mmm grand acoustics indeed but a bit too much to my taste. Good job, but then it is sooo difficult to beat Clare and Herrewegen on this turf. Not that it is needed, each performance has it's own intrinsic beauty.

@ecp2014 thats why i said advanced.

@gothips Hmmm, I would say most of the "strangeness" of Gesualdo results from his forays into strange key areas, moving between to very unrelated harmonies. This Purcell piece certainly uses a lot of dissonant suspensions and anticipations, but everything fits into Cminor or its related keys very neatly.

@jakeyjazz hey jakey good to have your comments do you sing with john or james?

I would just like to add that the countertenor voice is as natural a voice as any other, as it involves no artificial mechanism, simply the utilisation of the 'false' vocal cords, which are found just above the 'true' vocal cords. As a countertenor myself (and a deputy Lay Clerk at Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral, as coincidence would have it!), I am a believer that falsetto is a natural part of the vocal arsenal (indeed, I find the term 'falsetto' misleading in some respects). Best wishes J :)

weird harmony. it's like advanced type of Gesualdo.

Oh right:) It all sounds quite amazing though:D

there are four countertenors singing as to being 'natural' I am not getting into that. Countertenor is sung with a trained falsetto
well, I think the tempo was a bit fast and the decrescendo could have been a bit longer and more graceful....but GREAT JOB! And oh my what a space! Where is this? That is a good ensemble you got there.

@Wally773MTG Thank you for the comments. The space is Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral and indeed a great acoustic.
