  • yes because americans make the best things. too bad in the real world all breakthrough's in technology come from japan. tipical american response.

  • the big difference in touch. Gibson is easier to play - nice neck construction, frets, string spacing, small differences, but they count. Gibson gives you great wood resonance, you feel the strings moving, overall great feel. But still they are a bit overpriced. Standard series are really minimum if u really want to buy Gibson, because it's the cheapest expensive guitar which is just a bit better than epiphone.

The choice = your wallet and remember that You pay mostly for "Gibson" label

  • People, advise me,please! i want to take an SG but don't know is there a serious difference between Gibson or Epiphone?

  • Since top master luthier Michael Voltzs left Gibson and joined Epiphone in 2001 his main goal was go restore Epiphone back to a great guitar company that they once were. Today Mike Voltzs has most certainly done that and alot more. Certain models of the Epiphone Sg's and Lp's are top professional quality and are most certainly Gibson every equal And better. And it's Michael Voltzs who we have To thank for making Epiphone a great guitar company once again!

  • besides the headstock and pickguard do they have any other estetic diferences? i couldn't help but notice that the cutaways for the horns look diferent (the gibson appears to have the horns more scalloped)

  • i like that gibson:)

i can just wish for it... =[

  • Your wrong a few months back on EBAY i saw a 2010 Epiphone G-400 standard 1962 sg sell on EBAY $765.

  • you gott the same to guitar as me. nice (Y)

  • The epiphone g400 standard 62 is most certainly pro quality through and through. I would choose the epi sg over any gibson standard and faded series sg's any day just like many pro guitarist did last year in 2010.

  • Y with a heritage cherry finish. 2 tone and 2 volum with heavy duty 1 ince pots with vintage top hat knobs. A snap release wire harness. The neck is a 60's style slim tapper with a 22 fret rose wood finger board with rose wood neck binding. Brilliant!

  • The specks for the 2010 model epiphone g400 standard 62 sg. Grover 14:1 machines. epiphone usa Designed and made alnico v classic and classic plus double vacum waxed and wound with enamel wire. The bridge classic plus pu is over wound. Solid mahogany bod
