This is actually a pretty smart technique, especially on 2Fort. Put up Sentry, get between enemy and Sentry in a place they don't look, then when some big lumbering oaf comes along ready to turn the Sentry to scrap metal, jump out and cave in his skull. I'll have to remember this.
