I was there at the time and watched the bomb go off. The best account I've ever read of who built the bomb and how the FBI tried to disarm it is the book "Render Safe: The Untold Story of the Harvey's Bombing." The book is on the Kindle store for on $1.99. ( It's a two-night read, and I've got to tell you this book is HILARIOUS!

I worked in the coin vault in the basement. We had to collect all the coin from the change booths etc and secure it inside the vault before we could go. I remember names if you are out there Doug V. Dave S. Richard. I doubt if Jim S. is still alive. What strange memories.

I was living in Lake Tahoe at the time. It was unbelievable! Remember them removing a flat bed trailer of coins out before the explosion.

I was actually working at Harveys at the time and was living on the California side, about halfway to the "Y", off of Sierra Blvd. near the "snow dump". Being in a management position, I got to see first hand the devastation on the inside the day after the bomb was detonated. All of the table games were leveled on the casino floor, the ceiling was gone and you could look stright up for about 4 floors, and there was room furniture, TV's etc that had fallen down onto the floor.

I never knew about it either until I stumbled upon this videoclip - all I could say is "whoa!".
Incidentally, I was just in Harvey's a couple days ago myself.
