This is the first video from our "Viewers Video" segment where we showcase GreenPowerScience inspired work or other work that offers great ideas in the Green Energy Field.

Joe Carruth built this by himself and this is the third prototype of his design. The unit weighs 1.5 tons and is 12.5 ft x 14.5 ft of active collection area. He currently manually tracks the sun for testing and hopes to get some funding to bring this project to a self contained version that can be available for Alternative Power production.

Wouldn't an array of Frensal Lenses be much for effective then mirrors to heatï»ż the water?

You cannot array Fresnel Lenses to one common focalï»ż point.

sun = 1000-1300 joules per sq meters, this is roughly 16 sq meters = 16,000 watts of potential, since 100% reflective and receiving efficiency is not possible this closer to 11 kw of solar thermal. His boiler is a pulse boiler that produces several hundred pounds of pressure. The video says 12kw generator which it is and which it dose produceï»ż in short cycles. I have small lens that collects 1000+ watts of solar thermal that is 1.3mx1m Surface are is based on the collector are not the focal point

no mirror is 100% reflective, it comes really close sometimes, but if you look down 2 mirrors panting at each other it will slowly fad to green as we cannot make anything 100% perfect. If you don't believe me look up on the search bar, what color is a mirror, and click on vsauce'sï»ż video he explaines it really well.

As a retired boiler engineer, I agree with the statement, "Insulate the pipes" because the steam lines rapidly loose heat. It would save on water and you could plumb the used steam back into the system to help preheatï»ż the make up water. Congrats Joe on a Great Job !

is it possible to array the mirrors through a fresnel lense to get a smaller focal point? if so could you add a magnifying glass to get that focal point even smaller? possibly even use laser optics to make that a beam? (yes i think tooï»ż much)

so you could heat your house with this? i mean, why doesn't a community get together in the sourthern states and designate an area outside of town to build 100-200 of these andï»ż supply their own power?
