I had one a few days ago and I can take pain in most places......but the mouth area....and this tooth is still F**KING acheing......I am drugged up on pain meds now alot

@webkins102938 by the way, after you have it done, I recommend you do not talk as much as possible, because the vibrations from talking tend to make it hurt after the numbing goes away. I'm not saying don't talk at all, just try not to if you don't have to :)

@webkins102938 I'm 14 as well, and recently had a root canal done. And it didn't hurt one bit, and they make sure it doesn't because they numb you up a little, then use a very very thin needle to put some really numbing stuff in ya. I practically fell asleep during it all. Only bad part is how long you lay there, which for me was roughly 2 hours :D

I had to get this done when I was pretty young, like 14-15 and to this day I have an ugly gold crown and i will have it for the rest of my life. I have to get it redone every 5-10 years sometimes more often in my case. At the time although I brushed my teeth, I did not do so as well as I could have and my god do I ever regret it. Please brush your teeth guys, and not just that but try to get routine checkups and FLOSS your teeth as often as you can so you don't regret it like me.

it didn't hurt at all.
but she numbed me sooo much.
even the back of my head was numb.
i think i was numb around 6 hours.
