The late Basil Davidson (Nov. 9, 1914 - July 9, 2010) was simply the greatest African historian that ever lived. His dissemination of knowledge concerning the origins of African civilizations is incontestable and is required learning among many colleges worldwide. Here, as Mr.Davidson so eloquently states, is a video that sheds much light on how the people of the Nile first settled its banks and helped to forge the greatest civilization of antiquity, ancient Egypt.

  • If you go thru dr. clarks lectures he said Basil davidson did a good job on this documentary. But dr, Clarke an dr. Ben are the greatest historians of last century. their work speaks for itself

  • @lorcaliph514... I appreciate Dr. Clarke's work and can definitely vouch for Dr. Ben being one of the greatest teachers of our time. As many of our people do, I consider him a "master teacher" being the first Black Egyptologist and I've known him personally for years. I do not agree with all his philosophies but, I give him credit for his passion for the TRUTH of culture and religion and the vast knowledge he disseminates on the great cultural heritage for African people far and wide.

  • @HakatRe I believe Dr. Ben and Clarke are the most influential, but we can not overlook The Great Chiek Anta Diop and our great father Dr. Ivan Van Sertima. I love these men for opening our eyes. Dont forget, Dr. Chancelor Williams, and the Queen of ancient history Drusilla Dunjee Houston. He book The wonderful Ethiopians of the Cushite Empire influenced all of these men. We overlook our sisters far to much.

  • @lorcaliph514...Yes, ALL of the pioneers for our enlightenment should be recognized for their valiant efforts.

  • What's the name of this Documentary? And where can I find it at?

  • @TwelveSons12... I believe the series is called "Different but Equal." Many libraries and universities still carry the tapes (yes, I said tapes). There are about six, seven or more episodes if I remember correctly and all are very informative and share info on Africa from an very professional and unbiased point of view. Basil Davidson is The Man...

  • Basil Davisdon RIP and thank you for the truth.

  • Basil Davisdon died earlier this year. RIP and thank you for having the balls to tell the truth about Africa and exposing the lies of so called "historians" who insist on suppressing and distorting black history in an effort to make themselves feel superior.
