SORRY ABOUT THE APPALING PICTURE QUALITY OF THIS FILM - something seems to be iffy with the upload...

This film shows some wildlife captured on a short walk along the Bude Canal from the village of Marhamchurch to Bude itself.

Nothing spectacular, and I saw a lot more than I was able to capture, but hopefully a example of the sheer abundance of exciting, exotic and beautiful wildlife one can encounter even during a very short walk.

The Bude Canal was built to serve the hilly hinterland in the Devon and Cornwall border territory, chiefly to bring lime-bearing sand for agricultural fertiliser. It was remarkable in using inclined planes to haul tub boats on wheels to the upper levels. It had a total extent of 35 miles (56 km), and it rose from sea level to an altitude of 433 feet (132 m). The design of the canal influenced the design of the Rolle Canal.

Honestly I know all this and didn't just wiki it!! Or did I...
