Actually, we don't have to endure another Great Depression to get out of this mess. Just look at the Great Depression of 1920-1921, post WW1. GDP actually dropped more than it did in 1929, but the one major difference is that the Federal Reserve and the Federal Government did absolutely nothing and let the debts liquidate and the process of economic realignment and recovery proceed unabated without bailouts nor stimulus. This process only took about a year.

@2wheels88 If Fox/Bill O'reilly is involved then there are unsavoury forces at work. Smell's like bush election of old if votes are going missing. I follow US politics with a view to how the rest of the world operates. Here in the UK our policies and laws tend to shadow that of the US with worrying signs like the patriot act being enacted over here. The only hope is that Ron Paul gets to be president then all we have to worry about is keeping away from a John Wilkes Booth.
