After testing the interfacing circuit on a laboratory breadboard, it was connected to the main motor and the input switches of the main drive system.
Each pushbutton gives order to PIC for the desired floor that the car should move to it and magnetic switches specify the position of the car (at which floor the car is and where it should stop).
There is a magnet on the car energizes the magnetic switch to close when passing near it, passes 0 volt to PIC to specify the position of the car.

@ravindujay Dear ravindujay, in our elevator system we have two mechanical drive systems, one to drive the car and the other to drive the door. In car drive system (called Main Drive System) we used two steel pulleys and ropes to drive the car and counter weight. In door drive system we used the rack an pinion mechanism to make an opposite motion for the two panels of the door as it seems in the real life. u can watch the vedios of the whole project steps an discriptions on my page..
