A declaration to abandon oneself to a life of fun and have no concern for anything else. It's about divorcing Reason and marrying the sweet Lady Wine.

You know, my Friends, how long since in my House
For a new Marriage I did make Carouse*
Divorced old barren Reason from my Bed,
And took the Daughter of the Vine to Spouse.

This is the version in the First Edition of FitzGerald's 'translation' (Rubai 40). I prefer the same verse in his Fifth Edition, published some thirty years later, which is improved.
