Soon after the success of "To love him is to know him" by his band The Teddy Bears, Phil Spector tried his luck with this instrumental song. Despite the good production, it was a fiasco. But good ol' Phil switch his fate and became the rock and roll Legend that everybody knows in a fistful of years with his "Wall of sound" and the female vocals pop music. Now he's in jail: good luck Phil.
Elliot Ingber (Winged Eel Fingerling from Captain Beefheart) played with Phil Spector in a live appearance in LA when this came out to try and promote this record

@GarageRockRadio The guitar was played by Phil himself - he also played the lead guitar on The Drifters recording of "On Broadway". When he was about 15, Phil had a few lessons from jazz legend Barney Kessel. Although Phil was no maestro, he certainly took the instrument seriously in his teens.
