@scottalbert46 Are you for real!? Ever hear of professional confidentiality? Professional ethics? Your ego is too big to do the work you claim you do.
(con't) illustrating her thoughts and memories and I also love how she was able to bring slavery into her own memoir. Not only did I get the privelige to share her past but I also learned some things about slavery and how it relates to African Americans even presently. Stacey Patton is a strong and intelligent woman and I applaud her.
I am actually in the middle of currently reading this memor. I just had to take a break and google Ms.Patton to find out if she is getting the publicity she deserves. Although I have never been a victim of abuse I can relate to many of her circumstances by just being a black female growing up in Trenton NJ with parent(s)/grandparents who also shared these same "black values" that Stacey writes of. ( I also graduated Rutgers University-New Brunswick). I think that Stacey did a wonderful job cont
Wow, I am in complete awe. I really enjoyed this book. Unfortunately, I bought the book from a book store in my area for only 2 dollars. I am extremely upset this book was not sold for more because it is definitely worth more...however I purchased it because I believe in supporting African American writers. Once I really set aside time to get into her writing, I realized how gifted she is. Her story is not only encouraging but empowering. Now to mention, it brought back a few memories
I hope that you enjoyed this book. I was Stacey's counselor and I'll say that she tells the story in the book almost exactly like she did over a decade ago. And btw-the way she portrayed me (p.286) was extremely accurate. :-)

Congratulations Stacy for making it. Although I don't know you, you have inspired me to pursue my dream to become an educator. Thank you.
