The Foundation Fighting Blindness (FFB) is a leading non-government organization supporting hardcore research to find the causes and a cure for Usher Syndrome, Retinitis Pigmentosa, Macular Degeneration and the entire spectrum of retinal degenerative disease.
Since 1971, FFB has raised over $350 million to support critical research that may one day lead to a cure for these diseases. The culmination of more than three decades of research has resulted in the discovery of the building blocks for cures through novel treatment like gene therapy, stem cells, pharmaceutical therapy, nutrition, drug delivery and retinal cell transplantation. What is largely unknown is that these diseases directly affect over 9 million Americans.
