I saw this piece performed in SF in the 80s. I remember an interview in which Meredith Monk said that for a long time she didn't even compose for multiple voices because she couldn't find any singers talented enough to sing her very complex compositions. Then along came these three. The performance I saw was completely mind-blowing.
