This is my "walking office". A friend of mine (who is also a computer programmer) does this and I thought it was a good idea, so here's mine.

I started doing this about 6 weeks ago and at first it was very tiring. But now I can walk for 5 hours a day (with breaks) before my feet can't take it anymore, which amounts to about 12 miles. You can hardly tell you're walking while your head is busy at work, so it's like free exercise.

If you try this, make sure to turn off or pause the treadmill belt if you leave the room for any period of time. Kids can get their fingers caught in it or someone can trip on it. It's dangerous. It's not my fault if anyone gets hurt doing this so be careful.

Sorry GH subscribers for this diversion! :-P I'm almost able to 5-star TTFAF so that video will probably be next :)

  • what type of work do you do on the computer? programming? video editting? or business related?

  • @spacekid407 Programming. Mostly desktop software. Sometimes games. Anything, really... but yeah, programming is my day job.

  • @egyokeo that's really cool i had no idea you were a programmer! I wanna major in computer science & engineering when I go to college so I'm in that same area :D

  • @spacekid407 stick with it! It's a completely tolerable line of work ;-)... and you won't have trouble finding a job at all. Programmers are still in high demand.

  • I work for Ergomart, the company that manufactured and designed this set up. If you are interested in something like this I encourage you to visit our website at ergomart.com. You may also call and speak with one of our Customer Service Representative's at (888) 420-3200. Thanks!

  • @egyokeo Can you like be my spokesperson please? My mother still has this impression that programmers are in no demand just because one of her friends who was a programmer got fired. I'm trying to tell her this is the perfect opportunity for programming but you know mothers they love to disagree :P

  • @natureisthelife FAIL :-)

  • I got the same idea today and I was disappointed when I come to know that I wasn't the first guy to think like that.

  • Is that a kinesis keyboard? I so want one of those!
