Soul Asylum was around before Nirvana. They started putting out albums in the 80's. The only reason most never heard of them around that time was because they were a part of the underground scene which spawn grunge. So, to say he is a Kurt Wannabe is actually stating that you do not know your musical history.

Does anyone know why this song only plays out one side of my headphones wierd. Also what year is this from?

Soul Asylum released there first album in 1983 so saying nirvana influenced them sounds stupid however they had zero commercial success until 1994s grave dancers union which does sound like Nirvanas Nevermind but who knows

Got to buy it off of iTunes, dude!
Just noticing the youngsters remarks about Dave as a Kurt wannabe. This is about as smart as Miss Teen South Carolina's "the iraq" remarks. I love the so-called grunge era, don't get me wrong, but Pirner was "grunge" long before Cobain. Cobain, but not all Seattle bands, lifted a lot of his style from Minneapolis bands like Soul Asylum, The Replacements, and Husker Du.
